To ensure RPS grows our offering in line with our clients’ needs and market conditions, we’ve appointed Simon Bourke to lead our Building services teams, here in the UK. He will be working closely with business partners and their teams in the Birmingham, London, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle offices to develop and implement cross-functional integration, growth and management of all aspects of our service offering.
Simon said; “I am excited to be given the opportunity to lead a large and diverse group of talented people to engineer excellent environments for our clients and lead us towards a net zero carbon economy.”
Simon has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry working within multi-disciplinary design teams on a variety of sectors and has a specialism in Healthcare where he also leads the RPS Healthcare Sector.
Alongside the appointment of Simon, Andrew Tritton will now head the Newcastle office, succeeding Michael Robinson who left RPS in December 2020.
Jen Hamilton, Managing Director of Design commented; “We are excited to move forward with a combined UK Building services team and to see closer collaboration between our building services engineers and the civil and structural engineers, architects and consultants in our wider Design division. Our building services engineers have a really important role to play in meeting our climate change targets and Simon brings a huge amount of energy to the role, a passion for sustainable design and heavy weight healthcare expertise. He has a great team working with him in David Callaghan, Steve Ogden and Andy Tritton. Andy brings a fantastic track record in business growth and I look forward to seeing him bring his trademark client-focus to his new appointment leading the building services team in Newcastle.”
Both appointments were effective from 1 January 2021.
