RPS expands management consulting capability with strategic Canberra appointments
RPS has announced a major expansion of its management consulting services, establishing a dedicated practice in Canberra to support Defence, Federal Government and complex client advisory needs. Leading this initiative is newly appointed Executive Consultant, Melanie Morrissey, joined by Executive Advisor, Steve Baker.
With decades of combined experience across business transformation, strategy development and operational improvement, Melanie and Steve bring exceptional credentials and deep insights to RPS’ growing advisory offering. Their appointments signal a strengthened commitment to delivering high-value management consulting solutions to Defence, Federal Government and enterprise clients.

Melanie joins RPS with over 20 years of public and private sector experience, including senior leadership roles where she led business performance improvement consulting across the Asia-Pacific region. A former officer in the Australian Army and a seasoned strategist, Melanie specialises in business transformation, business growth and workforce capability development.

Supporting Melanie in this expansion is Steve Baker, appointed as Executive Advisor – Management Consulting. A highly respected Canberra-based executive, Steve has held senior leadership roles at Protiviti, PwC and Walter Turnbull. He is recognised for his expertise in assurance and financial advisory, business performance optimisation and transformation, governance and risk consulting and Defence and Commonwealth Government engagement.
With over 30 years of experience advising Defence, Commonwealth and State government clients, Steve’s deep understanding of the public sector operating environment complements RPS’ existing advisory strengths.
