We’re delighted to announce two new hires in the Cardiff planning team with Emily Avery joining as a Planner, and Ross Irvine as Senior Planner.
- Emily Avery joins RPS as a Planner following a graduate planning position with Arup
- Ross Irvine comes in as a Senior Planner after a seven-year period with Arcadis
With a background in Environmental Science and two years of private town planning consultancy, Emily was keen to join us and get involved in the delivery side of planning consultancy following her graduate planning position with Arup. The opportunity to join like-minded professionals within our environmentally focused multi-disciplinary services was a huge appeal to Emily and a great next step in her career.
Emily’s role will include assisting senior colleagues in strategic site promotion through the development plan making process and preparation, negotiation and management of planning applications. She will be working on a range of projects which will include renewable energy, retail, residential and leisure planning.
Joining the team as a Senior Planner after seven years with Arcadis, Ross was keen to take on a new challenge and increase his knowledge and experience with us. His previous background has involved planning input and co-ordinating planning applications of various scales across a wide range of sectors.
We offered him the chance to be more involved in the earlier stage of the planning process and provide advice to clients, which he’s already started getting involved in. He’ll also be supporting a number of large-scale solar farm projects throughout England and Wales and taking on smaller projects to manage in the future.
The RPS Cardiff team has a wide client base, including long-established, existing and emerging clients. Support was needed for senior colleagues to ensure the delivery to the high standards RPS sets itself. Providing this support will allow both Emily and Ross to get further involved in the delivery of projects and become more client facing than they were in their previous roles.
Darren Parker: “We’re delighted Emily and Ross have joined the team at what is a particularly busy time for us as a business. Their arrival has given us that extra added boost to continue delivering great work for clients. Both have a great opportunity to progress their planning careers and be driving forces for the Cardiff team. We welcome both to RPS!”
