RPS awarded Epic Games MegaGrant

RPS is delighted to have been awarded an Epic Games MegaGrant for our ongoing work with Unreal Engine. MegaGrants are a pledge of financial support by Epic for projects they find inspiring and beneficial for their community. First launched in 2019, MegaGrants is a $100 million program that continues Epic Games’ long-standing commitment to the success of all creators, and is designed to service and assist game developers, enterprise professionals, media and entertainment creators, students, educators, and tool developers doing outstanding work with Unreal Engine or enhancing open-source capabilities for the 3D graphics community

"The implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) has been a driving force in RPS’ success over recent years" says Mark Costello, (Director, Digital Design BIM & Technical Services at RPS). Today technology plays a huge part in change management, but it cannot do it by itself. Collaborative company-wide initiatives need to be implemented in order to succeed says Mark “RPS has a history of utilising the latest technological advances to further our success and competitiveness. In the extremely competitive market in which we work it's imperative that we acquire new skills to continually deliver for our clients". 

With project funds from Epic MegaGrant, RPS plans to use Unreal Engine on a major infrastructural project. The aim of our study is to build the capability and knowledge required to create open world environments for live infrastructural projects for use during the planning, design and construction phases. This project study will enable the public, design teams and clients to engage with our designs in a completely innovative new way says Mark.
