Our 2017 Planning and Environment graduates recently celebrated completing their two-year training journey at RPS.
The team of talented graduates were invited to attend a closing out ceremony to mark their transition into new roles within the company.
Hosted by senior leaders at RPS, the afternoon event reflected on their journeys to date and recognised the fantastic achievements each of them has made. Experienced colleagues from around the business shared insights into their personal careers at RPS and offered the new graduates advice for the next chapter in theirs. The team also participated in some light-hearted games focusing on our company and our Purpose, Promise and Behaviours.
As part of our programme, the graduates spent time on rotation weeks during which they learnt about disciplines outside of their immediate specialism. These weeks showed the benefits of collaborative working and what can be achieved when we work together to benefit our clients and ourselves.
The graduates celebrated over an afternoon tea and an awards ceremony to recognise those who had gone over and above in demonstrating our company behaviours. Zachory Simcox and Alice Gibbs were awarded our ‘We solve problems that matter’ award for their commitment and contribution over the duration of the programme.
Reflecting on her time as an Environmental graduate, Alice Gibbs added “The last two years have given me a valuable insight into other parts of the business, helping me to meet people from different teams and gain experience in a range of technical and general consultancy skills.
“It was nice to have a “closing ceremony” to give the scheme an official end and to bookmark our move to the next stage of our careers. I look forward to building on my experience at RPS”.
The afternoon concluded with a presentation from John Chubb, CEO, Consulting UK and Ireland on his view of the future at RPS.
After our closing celebration John added “The role of a Professional Consultant is not easy; balancing commercial, contractual and Client demands whilst absolutely delivering professional expertise. Our scheme is essential in equipping our consultants with the right skills. This ‘class of 17’ have engaged and delivered”. He concluded “They, and our other graduates, are the future of the Company – and that future is incredibly bright”.
Good luck to all our graduates as they embark on the next chapter of their careers.
