NOAA Awards $49-Million Coastal Geospatial Services Contract

22 Mar 2022

RPS is proud to announce that it is part of a team, led by Dewberry, that has been awarded a $49-million (shared ceiling) coastal geospatial services contract from NOAA. This contract is the team’s fourth consecutive, five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) coastal geospatial services contract (CGSC) by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management (OCM) to provide a variety of technical geospatial services.

As part of this contract, RPS can continue to support NOAA OCM by providing geospatial data management services, in support of OCM’s mission to provide coastal communities with the data and tools to help adapt to the changing coast and uses of coastal waters. As an example, under these CGSC contracts, RPS and Dewberry will continue to support data processing of the nationwide Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) data to support vessel traffic data analysis. In addition, they will continue to support the development of national-scale data for use in MarineCadastre.gov and its associated products (i.e. Ocean Reports) to support ocean-use planning.

“RPS is excited to continue to work with NOAA and Dewberry as we have for the past ten years. This contract demonstrates our strong GIS and data management expertise. Our team looks forward to continuing to help with ocean-planning activities in the years to come,” says Jeremy Fontenault, Director, RPS Ocean Science.
