Making it easy to connect: RPS signs Strategic Alliance with Japanese environment firm E&E Solutions

22 Jul 2020

Continuing its strategic positioning into the growing Asia Pacific offshore wind market, RPS is pleased to announce the signing of a Strategic Alliance agreement with Japanese environmental service provider E&E Solutions.

The success of this collaboration lies in the strength of our organisations and bringing together RPS’ international expertise built on 20 years supporting the development of the European offshore wind sector, with the deep local regulatory knowledge and expertise of E&E Solutions. Working together we will successfully deliver Environmental Impact Assessments and broader permitting services to offshore wind developers in the Japanese market.

Commenting on the significance of this agreement, Alun Williams, Director Offshore Wind RPS said, “Since its inception in Europe in the early 2000’s, RPS has become an established, leading provider of professional services to the offshore wind industry – we’ve learned a lot. And E&E Solutions are an exceptionally qualified EIA service provider with deep expertise in their market. Applying our combined, skills and experience will be an invaluable asset to local and international developers looking to develop their assets in Japan.”

RPS’ breadth of services allows our teams to work alongside their clients throughout the asset lifecycle, delivering international standard advice. And since the 1980s, E&E Solutions has participated in a variety of R&D projects and has built up a substantial track record in providing municipal governments and private enterprises with support in implementing wind generation projects.

Tomohiko Ike, Director E&E Solutions also commented, “We, E&E Solutions Inc. are focused on providing a variety of services for onshore and offshore wind energy projects mainly in the Japanese market. It is very exciting for us to collaborate with RPS, which is a company that provides a broad range of services in the global offshore wind industry. We absolutely expect to take more opportunities in this expanding offshore wind market in Asia.”

Our collaboration is effective from June 30, 2020 and will be in place initially for 2 years with an option to extend by an additional 2 years.
