The Jamie Margetts Bursary, launched earlier this year by CIWEM and RPS, celebrates its first recipient, as Eleanor Maxfield, Brunel University MSc student, accepts the fund to support her study in flood and coastal engineering.
The fund was established in memory of Jamie Margetts, a former Director at RPS and late Chair of CIWEM’s Urban Drainage Group. “Jamie was a colleague, friend and inspiration. His passion and energy for advancement in the urban drainage sector was evident to everyone who met or worked with him. The award of this bursary to continue to drive the industry forward is something he would have been very proud of.” James Hale, RPS Technical Director
The fund recognises the dedication and expertise Jamie contributed to urban drainage engineering. Jointly supported by our Water business and the Chartered Institute for Water & Environmental Management, it helps invest in the development of future great minds in the field who follow in Jamie’s footsteps.
To that end, the international bursary will invest £3000 to support Eleanor’s research into wastewater engineering.
