Expanding our Aviation expertise: NEC4 ECC Project Management
25 February 2019 | 1 min read
Congratulations to Michael Fisher, Senior Engineer in our Aviation team, who has recently achieved NEC4 ECC (Engineering and Construction Contract) Project Manager accreditation.
The accreditation, recognised by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the New Engineering Contract (NEC), qualifies Michael to undertake the Project Manager role under NEC4 contracts. The achievement provides clients with assurance that we can deliver projects to the highest standards in strict accordance with the NEC4 processes and ethos.
Having spotted an opportunity to deliver an enhanced service to our aviation clients, Michael put himself forward to undertake the training. Supported by RPS, he successfully completed the training course and exams in December last year.
Michael comments “We often provided NEC3 ECC Project Manager services to aviation clients as an extension to our role as Designer on airport infrastructure projects. The accreditation will now enable us to deliver this service as a dedicated role, entirely separately to the design; providing a unique offering to clients combining project expert project management with our deep expertise in airfield infrastructure design and construction.”
As a regular presenter on behalf of the ICE (as part of the Cafe200 scheme) Michael has since delivered a talk on the NEC form of Contract to the Graduate and Student committee for the ICE East Midlands branch. Including students and recent graduates seeking professional membership with the ICE, the talk has helped the attendees to meet the ICE attribute for Commercial Awareness.
