Equinor selects RPS-fielded vessel for site operations in South Korea

12 Aug 2021

Working with our local partners, Mtide, RPS has helped Equinor solve the challenge of finding an available vessel to meet their HSE and operational requirements in South Korea. The RPS-presented vessel was selected out of more than 30 that Equinor reviewed globally.

Our team brings industry-leading HSE experience and knowledge of vessel requirements for metocean-mooring operations and site investigation activities. Following a refit, the vessel will be mobilised in South Korea in the latter part of 2021.

Sam (Sangmok) Roh, RPS Country Manager – South Korea, said, “We are delighted to have been selected for this work, providing effective and continued support for Equinor’s projects in this important region and drawing from our deep expertise in HSE related to metocean and site investigation survey work.”

RPS’ ongoing work with Equinor in Korea includes deploying two RPS floating LiDAR buoys in 2020 to measure the wind resource data that will inform project development and investment. We have also been selected as ESIA consultant for Equinor’s Firefly wind farm off Ulsan. This latest vessel management contract furthers our support of the South Korean offshore wind sector.

RPS is expanding its renewables team in South Korea. See our recruitment page for current vacancies.
