COP26 Climate Careers Zone - working towards a better future
04 October 2021 | 1 min read
With the world’s biggest event on the climate agenda just under a month away, we’ve been working on a global initiative, targeted at young people, that we’re really excited to share.
As COP26 lands in Glasgow, with it comes a big global conversation on climate change: the challenge we face and the urgent action needed to accelerate net zero.
The message is simple. We need to make sure that our actions today protect the planet for future generations. In particular, young people who feel they are facing a very uncertain future. This is why we’ve chosen to place this group at the heart of our initiative.
Using COP26 as a platform, RPS is launching our Climate Careers Zone to give young people knowledge and insight for informed decisions on how they can help shape the change.
Focused on 12–16-year-olds, the virtual reality experience will bring the future of our towns and cities to life; guiding students through an interactive range of solutions that will help our built environment adapt and respond to climate change. Our consultants, including engineers, architects and environmental specialists, have shared their insight and advice to inspire students on a learning path for a career that can make a difference.
Launching later in October, RPS’ Climate Careers Zone will be available to students globally and be easily accessible as a free educational resource. An important part of our initiative is a UK schools outreach programme, and we’re proud to be working with STEM Learning to take this interactive offer directly into schools through our community of STEM Ambassadors.
Do you want your school to be involved with our Climate Careers Zone? Or know of a school who might be interested in partnering with RPS for a STEM visit? We want to hear from you.
Register your interest in our Climate Careers Zone here and we'll get back to you.
COP26 is just around the corner - together we can #shapethechange
