ChemRiskMap

RPS BCC has just completed a project in Romania that enables the emergency services to collect, store and rapidly retrieve information on hazardous chemicals that are stockpiled or processed at sites throughout the country. The RPS-developed Geographic Information System application – ChemRiskMap – shows where chemicals are stored and what particular environmental hazards they represent. Comprehensive information on chemicals and their locations – including coordinates – are stored in an Access database which can be queried for company information, types of chemicals, hazard risks, site details and precise locations.
Local authorities in Romania are impressed with ChemRiskMap and intend to add additional data – including details of chemical-carrying tanker trucks.
