RPS is delighted to welcome Anthony Gaffney, Metocean Director EAME, to lead and grow our regional MetOcean business.
Anthony joins RPS to deliver metocean services and technology solutions for our energy sector clients and the offshore wind industry. As offshore wind continues its current growth trajectory, our metocean solutions will be integral for the collection of reliable data to support a ‘bankable investment’ narrative.
Anthony is a deeply experienced senior leader with a proven track record in the timely delivery of complex services and solutions to the marine energy sector – including projects in the UK and Europe, Middle East, West Africa, SE Asia and the Americas. He has over 30 years’ experience in operational oceanography delivering offshore field programmes and project management of metocean measurement campaigns, managing specialist teams, and running global operations.
Commenting on his new position with RPS, Anthony says, “As the market pivots to meet the demand for low carbon energy solutions, I look forward to quickly engaging with the many talented people across the organisation to strengthen my understanding of how RPS can support and meet the needs of our clients holistically across the asset lifecycle. I have gained valuable experience over many years delivering a blend of science and commercial project and programme management in complex marine environments all around the world – I am excited to bring this experience to RPS for its clients and their projects.”
Anthony has held many senior leadership positions (including several at board level). In this strategic leadership role he will support the safe delivery of our market-leading metocean services and technology solutions to a rapidly transforming energy sector and expanding offshore wind industry.
Commenting on Anthony’s appointment, Alun Williams, Global Offshore Renewables Director, said, “We are very pleased to welcome Anthony to our EAME operations. Metocean services and technology, such as the RPS Floating LiDAR, will continue to be critical in establishing wind farm feasibility and informing consenting and engineering decisions across each of the active markets in Europe. RPS has been delivering metocean services globally from our hubs in Australia and North America for decades. Expanding our operations in the UK will make it easier to connect with and support our UK and European based clients.”
