Patrick Clifton

As a Principal Planner based in our Cairns office, Patrick provides clear and concise town planning advice to clients in the public and private sectors, working alongside RPS’ experienced team of planning and development advisory professionals. Starting his career in local government before transitioning into consulting, Patrick has more than 25 years’ experience - including a decade in the United Kingdom and fifteen years’ working across Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia. Specialising in development assessment and due diligence reporting, Patrick draws on dual qualifications in planning and law to help RPS clients navigate legislative requirements and identify smart solutions to complex planning issues. He has shaped positive planning outcomes for a wide range of development types including rural projects, metro regeneration schemes, greenfield residential developments, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects.
