RPS’ accredited bushfire planners work with you to develop a risk analysis of your site, improving resource allocation, emergency management and overall bushfire management.
Bushfire risk analysis strategically identifies risks to inform the development of a Bushfire Management Plan. Risk analysis involves identifying assets that are important and assessing the likelihood and consequence of a bushfire impacting those assets. Based on the risk rating, assets are prioritised for treatment. When a risk treatment is recommended, regular monitoring and review processes ensure that risks are continuously managed.
We use the National Emergency Risk Assessment Guidelines which provide a contextualised emergency-related risk assessment method consistent with the Australian Standard AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines.
This approach identifies the current level of bushfire risk, building and design characteristics, existing emergency management arrangements and the bushfire threat and weather conditions experienced by the site. The likelihood and consequence of a possible bushfire attack is assessed, and a schedule of prioritised bushfire protection measures are proposed to mitigate risks to the site.
