While continued restrictions on movement makes undertaking audits in person more challenging, our due diligence and transaction advisory team are supporting clients remotely - and with risk-assessed site visits where essential - to ensure projects and operations can continue.

We have developed support services for landlords, investors and real estate professionals to make it easy to keep doing business during this time.

We can deliver our services in line with government advice using the latest video conferencing facilities and collaboration technology to stay remote where possible. Where site presence is required we will be there, having first undertaken our robust risk assessment procedure to ensure we can maintain social distancing.

Phase 1 Environmental Surveys

Overcoming current limitations on physical inspections for land and property assets using virtual assessments; including street views, aerial photos, detailed mapping and in-house extensive site records to facilitate sale, acquisition or refinance risk assessment needs.

Asset review

Review client portfolios to frame environmental risks, enhance existing value, and where appropriate the preparation of whole or part divestment in short-medium term.

Dilapidations

Assessment and rectification of tenant impacts to maximise ongoing site value and remove landlord liabilities.

Mitigate risks on problem sites

Rectify known environmental issues/problem sites to remove/reduce risks and increase asset value and saleability.

Sell-side advice

Through provision of fast, cost-effective and tailored sell-side reports (including distressed assets) to facilitate prompt and efficient divestments. Allowing clients to plan and prepare for future transactions once business normality resumes.

Ensure environmental compliance

Identify, manage and reduce operational risks through audits, permit support and surrender, collation/update of legal registers, implementation of an EMS and associated measures to strengthen and enhance business operations e.g. review of legal registers, plan emergency procedures. Including assisting clients with compliance related changes/challenges to the business operations or practices. Aiding the implementation of regulator requirements and supporting with environmental policy production or revisions.

Development of environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies

Strategies to meet investor/client expectations of a modern business by improving reputational, operational and management activities feeding into strategic planning in a range of areas notably including climate change impacts, supply chain management and corporate purpose.

Training

Distance learning opportunities or bespoke online training to guide environmental good practice, improve employee environmental awareness and provide workplace specific environmental practice education. Tailored environmental training to suit the clients needs.

Environmental risk assessment delivered during lockdown

We have recently completed a Site Environmental Risk Assessment (SERA) on a property in central London. During lockdown, we completed a desk-based assessment for this commercial development property and our review enabled our client to make an informed decision and proceed with confidence.
