Pollution

Environmental protection is a key part of government legislation and the Environment Agency has the power to levy unlimited fines for serious pollution incidents.

Situational awareness to minimise impact

With Water Companies targeting a reduction in wastewater pollution incidents as part of their common performance commitments, managing pollution from sewerage networks is a critical aspect of network management.

Understanding pollution history and predicting the likelihood and consequence of network failures will enable pollution prevention, the avoidance of significant financial penalties and to support the drive for a healthier water environment.

At RPS we have developed the analysis tools and platforms, such as WaterNet ProTM, that utilise live streaming data from multiple sources including telemetry, EDM and choke detection programmes to identify what's likely to cause a pollution incident to occur and enable pro-active intervention to improve sewer performance.
