Coal-Fired Power Stations

RPS was retained by a European power generating company to help prepare their UK power station facility for sale. The coal fired facility was constructed in the 1960s and closed during 2018.  RPS was engaged in 2016 to provide baseline environmental information for use during the planned divestment process.

The assets included the coal-fired power plant with associated facilities and a separately located ash slurry landfill site connected by pipeline.

Solution

All of the services were provided by in-house RPS experts with extensive power related experience and included the production of detailed technical reports on a range of subjects. The reports were prepared in advance of the sales process to help the buyers understand the environmental condition of the site and to aid the efficient progression of the sales process.

As part of our service delivery, RPS designed a bespoke and secure Virtual Data Room (VDR) to hold all of the relevant environmental documentation and managed VDR access for prospective bidders during the sales process.
