MANAGING RISK IN OFFSHORE WIND PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

A FLOATING LIDAR BUOY CASE STUDY

LiDAR buoys are an essential tool in offshore wind farm development. They inform activities such as site selection, yield optimisation, array engineering and workplace safety, collecting reliable data to support a ‘bankable’ investment.

We developed the RPS Floating LiDAR buoy with project development challenges in mind. Specifically designed to help answer these time, money and competitive advantage risks, it offers outstanding reliability – and recently celebrated the milestone of having recorded six years of data, without dropping a single 10-minute transmission.

We’ve also taken a pro-active approach to safety, emissions, rapid response, project contracting and permitting management related to Floating LiDAR buoy projects. Find out how we did it in this infographic.
