Lockdown has been challenging for us all – the shift to working from home where possible has been a juggling act between work, educating our children and looking after family, all at the same time! But, we’ve adapted, accomplished, and excelled.
Following the launch our new High5 employee recognition initiative, we’d like to celebrate one of our employees who has demonstrated all our behaviours, going above and beyond his personal objectives to achieve absolute delivery for RPS and our client, Welsh Water.
Demonstrating our behaviours to exceed expectations
Joe Lamb is one of our Acoustic Logger Analysts. He’s been with RPS just over 2 years having joined us as a trainee leakage technician on our Welsh Water contract.
The use of acoustic loggers increases efficiency in the leak detection process by significantly reducing survey time to locate leaks on the water network. Joes has been integral to this work, working closely with the deployment teams to provide advice on the best approach, compliance to plan, and opportunities to increase logger effectiveness. His analysis of the data helps to identify points of interest, ready for our skilled leakage technicians to investigate and pinpoint leaks.
Above and beyond to achieve absolute delivery
As the only Acoustic Logger Analyst in South East Wales currently, Joe is heavily relied upon. He is a key member of our frontline team who have been working tirelessly during the past year to keep the water supply flowing.
Like many, Joe has spent the last year juggling home life and work. But he has continued to deliver his work and then some. Knowing we would be investing in some new logging equipment, Joe used his specialist knowledge of the acoustic logging process to trial various noise loggers to help decide on the best product for RPS to purchase. He’s spent time coaching our newly appointed analysts to get them up to speed quickly to help them succeed their new role.
Joe has also taken on additional responsibility for the cataloguing, tracking and managing the client’s logger stock across Wales - a very beneficial activity that the client was not expecting to be delivered and are and thrilled with! Joe carried out this task over the weekends and this has ultimately allowed loggers to be successfully deployed at the start of each new week. This has demonstrated his commitment not only to RPS but to our client, Welsh Water, for whom he has provided “Absolute delivery”.
Joe has demonstrated all of our behaviours, being confidently pragmatic, solving our operational problems, connecting easily with new and existing teammates and is a great example to all colleagues. He has delivered and exceeded his objectives, going above and beyond to deliver for our client. Well done Joe!
