We’re acting as Project Managers, Cost Consultants and Principal Designers on this 1,150-home mixed-use development and will procure the contractor to carry out the works to deliver a further 138 homes on behalf of our client.
Adopting a brownfield-first approach by unlocking and reinvigorating derelict former industrial sites is vital in preserving our greenbelt land. This 43-acre site will transform Birmingham’s Icknield Port Loop area into a vibrant canal-side community with a new leisure, sports and swimming centre and commercial and retail facilities.
Using Advanced Manufacturing in Construction (AMC), Port Loop homes are being created in controlled factory conditions, optimised for quality and environmental efficiency and craned in and assembled on site.
Ben Stockdale, Associate Director in our Project Management team, applauds the progress of the site:
“After working on Phases 1 and 2 for a number of years, I’m excited to see Port Loop transition to the next stage, paving the way for more crucial city-centre housing even in these challenging times.”
