Doug Ashton has over 29 years of experience as a reservoir engineer, including eight years working for exploration and production companies, five years in investment banking, and over 15 years as an Independent Qualified Reserves Auditor (IQRA). Doug holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary, is a registered Professional Engineer (APEGA), and is a member of both the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Doug’s expertise is in reservoir engineering and project management, including reserve and resource evaluations, field development planning, reservoir modelling, and economic analysis. Doug has worked the majority of his career in Western Canada but has experience in reserve and resource evaluations on every continent (excluding Antarctica). In addition to traditional oil and gas projects, he also has experience applying oil and gas recovery methods to alternative industries such as helium exploration and mineral production from brine. Doug manages the engineering team in Canada.
