What it's like to work in Asset Surveying and Inspection

Jon Colley has been a Utility Surveyor at RPS for over four years. In this interview, we spoke to him about his role at RPS and his career progression.

Gareth Ingram joined us as a Trainee Leakage Technician, at the age of 16 and fresh out of secondary school over 20 years ago. He has recently been appointed Framework Director, responsible for all our frameworks in the south of the UK. With a long and extensive career at RPS, he has a unique experience to share about what it's like to work with us.

Before Jack Edwards joined our Geomatics team as an Assistant Land Surveyor, he was working in a supermarket for a number of years. With a rapid growth in experience and competency and the right training from RPS, he has now become a skilled and confident addition to our team, working with the latest state-of-the-art surveying tools and technology.

What can you expect from the application process?

In brief our application process involves the following steps:

  3. Upload your CV and covering letter
  4. Apply for suitable opportunities

You will receive a confirmation email shortly after we receive your application. If your application is successful, our Talent Acquisition Team will contact you to seek further information about your skills and experience and once they are satisfied that you meet the requirements for the position, you will be invited to an interview. If this is successful, we will offer you a position with us.

How many positions are currently open within these roles?

We have several vacancies across a wide range of roles in the UK, however, do note that we may close them earlier than their stated deadlines, if we receive a very high volume of applications. We would recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, to avoid disappointment.

We do have the option to offer sponsorship under Skilled Worker Visas. This means we can sponsor candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK but possess a valid Student visa or Graduate Visa. We're also able to support candidates with pre-settled or settled status.
