The new RPS office in Samil-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul opened on 1 September 2021. To coincide with our office opening, Sam (Sangmok) Roh, RPS South Korea – Country Manager, Alun Williams, Director – Global Offshore Renewables, and Mark Houston, Managing Director – Renewables, were there to meet our local partners and representatives of the Korean offshore wind industry.
At this time, they also welcomed the newest member of our team, Dong-Joo Kim, who joins RPS in South Korea as EIA Manager to support the delivery of large-scale offshore wind farm projects across Asia.
South Korea has ambitious plans for renewable energy development, with a goal of being able to generate 12GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030. RPS is committed to supporting these efforts; we are currently working on several important projects in the region as we expand our business in Asia’s emerging markets.
Sam Roh says, “This is a hugely exciting next step in the progress of our renewables strategy in Asia. There’s no better time to be working on renewables and offshore wind projects in South Korea. Not only is this country committed to renewables, with the support of the government in its Green New Deal, but the sector here is expanding rapidly.”
RPS is actively recruiting for qualified specialists with local knowledge (details of current vacancies can be found on our South Korea recruitment page which is being updated often).
