RPS Acquires Occupational Health Provider Health in Business
26 March 2010 | 2 min read
We are pleased to announce that RPS has acquired the occupational health provider Health in Business (HiB), established over 10 years ago, and based in the North West.
As both an occupational health provider and a laboratory services business, HiB will enhance the occupational health and laboratory services we currently provide and offers excellent opportunities for development and growth.
With sites in Liverpool, Warrington and Ellesmere Port, the acquisition extends the number of RPS locations offering clinic facilities to six across the UK and provides improved geographical cover.
The in-house laboratory at Ellesmere Port is able to undertake trace metals analysis, drug and alcohol tests together with haematology and bio-chemistry testing, and will immediately commence the testing and analysis of medical samples from existing RPS clinics.
In addition to a medical laboratory, we are now able to offer physiotherapy services. All our physiotherapists have at least 8 years post qualification experience and are registered with The Health Profession Council and are fully chartered members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
With immediate effect, HiB will operate as RPS Health in Business. Jo Cleary, as Operational Director for the existing RPS occupational health business, will be responsible for the ongoing management and integration of HiB. The HiB Medical Director, and Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Dr David Gidlow, becomes Clinical Director and will report to Dr Ray Quinlan, our Medical Director.
In the immediate term, we will be looking at how we maximise the commercial and clinical opportunities arising from the acquisition and linking with our existing business, as we increase our presence in the occupational health market place, moving from a regional to a national provider of occupational health services.
