Richard Anstey

Richard Anstey is the general manager for our North American Well Operations division at RPS, joining us in April 2023 to lead the operations and business development teams.

Richard started his career in 2001 as a Mud Logging Geologist with Schlumberger, helping in the monitoring and drilling of wells both onshore and offshore in the United States. He leveraged his knowledge from his Geological Engineering degree and field experience. Richard moved from the field roles into Personnel Manager, Operations Manager, Country Manager and then a Global Account Manager. He provided valuable support to multiple clients and increased customer market share through his reputation for delivering high-quality technical services, safety, and excellent customer service.

In 2016, Richard moved his skill set to Weatherford, where he was the Product Line Manager of Surface Logging Systems for North America, where he increased the operational footprint, both onshore and offshore. Due to his knowledge of the services and his reputation with his clients, he became a member of the transition team, where he worked to ensure the smooth merger of all services, employees and contracts from the sale of Weatherford’s Surface Logging Systems to Excellence Logging. While at Excellence Logging, he took on the role of Director of MLG North America and the Caribbean, responsible for the growth of all services and building the company on his beliefs and reputation of service quality and safety. 

Richard is a member of the Houston and West Texas Geological Societies and volunteers at multiple North American Oil &Gas charity events throughout the year.
