Iain is an engineer and project leader with over 17 years’ experience. He has a strong background in maintenance, calibration, deployment and recovery of various meteorological and oceanographic monitoring systems in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This includes deploying seabed, buoy-mounted and ship’s hull ADCPs (Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers) to facilitate managing risk for clients in challenging environments.
Iain has multi-sector experience and is primarily focussed on HSE – working safely and supporting those around him during offshore deployments including work on military submarines. Outside of his metocean work, Iain assisted with dynamic testing and reliability engineering for the Crossrail railway development, Europe’s largest infrastructure project.
As Optimisation Specialist at Tetra Tech RPS Energy, he supports optimisation of seismic surveys offshore. Iain provides expert knowledge through teamwork, data visualisation and effective communication. His role assists clients in executing high-quality, cost-effective seismic surveys by performing intelligent line planning that considers currents, SIMOPS, and budget, while ensuring survey quality through rigorous quality control of navigation attributes.
