Sruwaddacon Bay is highly scenic and its environs are located within environmentally designated sites (cSAC, pSPA, NHA and Ramsar). RPS managed to complete a comprehensive EIS in a most sensitive eco-system for this major infrastructure development within a very tight timeframe.

Construction began in July 2011 and was completed in December 2015. The Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline won the Engineers Ireland Outstanding Project of the Year Award in 2016.
