We have a strong knowledge of Network Rail’s Governance for Railway Investment Projects (GRIP) process and the associated stages within a development project lifecycle. Through our multi-disciplinary approach we fully integrate and coordinate rail development projects and manage their progress through the sector’s rigorous assurance processes.

Our planners are experienced in the full range of planning processes including Transport Works Act Orders, Development Consent Orders and Permitted Development. The impacts of development proposals can be assessed and mitigated by our expert consultants who cover the full range of environmental specialisms. Our design capability covers civil and structural engineering, architecture and building services, together with rail sector specialisms covering Permanent-Way, signalling and traction power design.

Tilo develops solutions from feasibility studies through to handing over the completed development and efficiently manages all stages of design development and assurance. Steve Austin

Steve is a chartered town planner with over 11 years’ experience in the planning profession, having previously spent 8 years working for Network Rail. He has particular planning expertise in both infrastructure and commercial rail related development, stakeholder management and negotiation.

Steve has significant experience of infrastructure projects across the rail network including major station redevelopments including Kings Cross and London Bridge, passenger capacity improvement works, electrification, Maintenance Delivery Units (MDU’s), asset protection, embankment works, new rail lines/chords, W10 gauge clearance, depots, Rail Operating Centres (ROCs), Access for All (AFA), ERTMS, signalling, GSM-R, Level Crossing closures and the National Station Improvement Programme (NSIP).

In Christy’s 28 years’ experience he has delivered numerous large scale linear infrastructure projects. He specialises in Design Build project delivery, having worked for design teams and contractors on numerous projects with values exceeding £100m, including Docklands Light Railway, HS2 and Luton MRT. He has an excellent understanding of the needs of contractor clients.
