Building Information Modelling (BIM)

Building Information Modelling (BIM)

High-accuracy data is critical to the success of Building Information Modelling (BIM), and RPS is a leading supplier of spatial information to support effective BIM for design, engineering, construction and asset management.

From individual buildings and infrastructure, to whole precincts and cities, RPS uses state-of-the-art surveying, mapping and data management technologies to capture the information architects, planners, engineers and contractors rely on for BIM.

RPS supports high-accuracy building information modelling (BIM) through:

Laser Scanning and Point Cloud Survey

Our expert team captures, analyses and processes laser scan and point cloud data to deliver 3 dimensional models of built assets. This helps our clients to streamline the design process, confirm as-built compliance and increase asset planning and management efficiencies. Point cloud data can be supplied in a range of formats to feed into client-preferred BIM programs and systems.

Subsurface Survey, Utility Detection and Mapping

RPS’ subsurface survey team uses state-of-the-art equipment, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), to model the location and configuration of underground services, utilities and structures. This information provides BIM inputs that support safe and efficient design, construction and engineering, early identification of potential clashes and effective build scheduling.

LiDAR, Aerial Photography and Photogrammetry

RPS utilises specialised fixed wing aircraft as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to generate vital data about terrain, landscape and built features. This information feeds into BIM for project design, engineering and asset management

RPS facilitates better (BIM) by delivering:

Fully system-compliant modelling and data outputs from our own BIM-enabled programs, or data inputs to client-owned systems across multiple platforms.

The flexibility to provide BIM information at a Level of Detail (LOD) that suits your nominated BIM standard and project requirements.

Technological and spatial analysis solutions that facilitate the effective use of BIM across all project phases and types.
