The new UQ Oral Health Centre opened in January 2015 and is the nation’s largest and most advanced tertiary oral health facility. The landscape design references Queensland forests as a response to the native character of the neighbouring parklands. Within the building envelope areas of congregation, recreation and retreat were developed to support university activities, offering interaction with the built form over several levels, and engaging with the heritage protected park character surround. The design team worked closely with the University to create a truly memorable campus landscape that embraces its south-east Queensland location. The commission was commenced in 2009 by Gamble McKinnon Green and completed by RPS in 2015.
