The Bays Precinct Urban Transformation Program is Sydney’s largest urban renewal project since the Sydney Olympics.
RPS has delivered integrated surveying and mapping services to assist in the planning for the Bays Precinct site which includes Blackwattle Bay, Rozelle Bay, Rozelle Rail Yards and the White Bay Power Station. RPS’ deliverables included a detail and contour survey captured by traditional ground methods and an aerial surveying program; and a cadastral boundary model.
RPS was also engaged to obtain and manage the planning approval for the Bays Precinct Discovery Day in April 2015 - a one day public/community event which attracted over 20,000 people. The Discovery Day took place on land between the Bicentennial Park (Rozelle Bay) and the White Bay Cruise Terminal located at Rozelle, as well as the adjoining waterways. Working to a tight project timeline, RPS navigated a complex array of planning instruments and approval requirements to obtain a single coordinated approval. RPS’ expertise in delivering projects in sensitive environments was key to ensuring potential impacts to State and local heritage, aquatic ecology, water quality, traffic, and socio-economic issues were minimised.
