Australian Federal Police (AFP) Queensland State Office

RPS has supported the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to complete a major refurbishment of a building in Newstead to accommodate its Queensland State Office operations.

Providing a base from which the AFP can undertake a range of investigations, operational support, security risk management, vetting and information service functions, the building chosen for the Queensland State Office required extensive modification and refurbishment works.

Due to the sensitive nature of the AFP’s operations, RPS’ extensive experience delivering project management services to Federal Government agencies with complex security requirements proved invaluable throughout the delivery of this $25 million project.

Significant coordination between various internal departments was required to ensure a smooth transition into the new space, and the leadership of our experienced project managers ensured that the State Office was delivered on time, under budget and in accordance with the AFP’s objectives and requirements.

With the refurbishment project beginning in September 2016 and all works completed by April 2017, RPS is proud to have contributed to the delivery of a secure, fit-for-purpose facility that sets a new  benchmark for AFP’s state offices nationally.
