Divisional Leadership and Executive Team

RPS Group Plc has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1987. Our Australia Asia Pacific (AAP) divisional leadership and executive general management teams are responsible for RPS teams working all over the region, and bring together a diverse range of skills and perspectives on leadership and management of professional services businesses.

Ross Thompson

As Chief Executive Officer for RPS in Australia and the Asia Pacific, Ross works with the leaders of our operational teams to drive business efficiency, growth and success. He brings a wealth of experience leading highly successful organisations and teams across the UK, Middle East, Australia and Asia Pacific.
 
After a career in the British military where he achieved the rank of Army Captain, Ross joined the corporate world in 2005 driving the development of leading professional services brands in Australia and internationally.
 
Combining his business and leadership skills with a lifelong passion for sport, Ross was engaged by the Abu Dhabi Government in 2008 to manage the establishment of Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management; a role that saw him contribute to the development of the multi-billion Yas Marina Circuit and first ever Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
 
A proven expert in high growth business-to-business consultancy development, Ross joined RPS in January 2017 following long-term appointments as Group Operations Manager and Emerging Markets Manager at ASX 200-listed engineering and environmental services firm, Cardno.
 
In addition to his leadership role at RPS, Ross is Non-Executive Director of Queensland Rugby Union.

John Tompson

As Chief Executive Officer for RPS' global energy business, John leads our network of energy professionals working right across the globe.

Throughout his tenure as CEO of RPS' Australia Asia Pacific business (2003 to early 2018), John grew our Australian operations significantly through the strategic acquisition of specialist project management, urban growth and infrastructure advisory practices.
 
Widely respected for his pragmatic and professional approach to business, John's leadership has seen RPS diversify to encompass technical services and disciplines across all phases of the project lifecycle-from investigation and initiation, to design and project delivery.

Prior to his work at RPS, John was the Managing Director of Hydrosearch–the first Australian company to join the RPS network in 2003. Throughout his career he has held senior client- and consultant-side roles with public and private organisations, including seven years at Australia’s largest dedicated oil and gas company, Woodside Energy.
 
John draws on the experience and relationships he has built over many years to facilitate new growth opportunities for RPS in the energy sector while encouraging a truly client-centred service culture.
 

Stuart Roberts

A key member of our organisation’s leadership team for more than a decade, Stuart has overseen RPS financial operations in the Australia Asia Pacific region since transferring from RPS’ European team in 2010.
 
As Chief Financial Officer, Stuart leads a large team of finance professionals who support our company’s six business units to deliver high quality services to clients in the urban growth, energy, mining, infrastructure and natural resource sectors.
 
Working closely with our executive management team, Stuart oversees all AAP financial reporting inputs to the London Stock Exchange and shareholders, management reporting, budgeting and business planning to support business profitability and growth, risk and compliance, property management and the integration of acquired companies to RPS financial and reporting protocols.
 
Drawing on his many years of experience in audit, management consultancy and corporate finance, Stuart has been integral to the successful acquisition of a number of Australian companies by RPS in recent years.
 

Meegan Sullivan

Meegan is responsible for developing, communicating and coordinating strategic plans and initiatives for the growth and success of RPS in Australia and Asia Pacific (AAP).
 
Meegan has over 20 years' experience in project planning and delivery, business strategy, project positioning, communication and engagement strategies, issues and risk management within the infrastructure sector. She has held business and people leadership positions for nearly 15 years, with significant experience both within a state-owned corporation and privately owned companies.

Meegan's professional services consulting experience extends across Australia, with various positions held in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. She has led, delivered and advised on projects including Melbourne’s Regional Rail Link, Melbourne Metro Tunnel and East West Link Public Private Partnerships, Brisbane’s Airport Link, Gold Coast’s Rapid Transit project and Sydney’s Desalination Project. 

Meegan has also been involved in several successful alliances over the last decade and has sat on alliance leadership teams for the Rail Systems Alliance (Regional Rail Link), Sydney Water’s Priority Sewerage Program, North Head Sewage Treatment Improvements and SewerFix Wet Weather Alliances.
 

Susan Farr

Susan leads RPS' Planning and Development business across Australia, partnering with our development and infrastructure clients to set up projects for success. Our technical practices include economics, planning, surveying and mapping, urban design, landscape architecture and cultural heritage. We pride ourselves on being the best of breed in each of our practice areas and to deliver better value and integrated outcomes for clients when we work together.  
 
Susan is an economist with more than 25 years’ experience in strategic, commercial and business development roles in banking, infrastructure and consulting industries, most recently as the Director of Brilliant Cities for AECOM. She is excited about growing the RPS brand as a leading firm in our field through strong partnerships and performance.

Rob Salisbury

Rob is one of RPS’ most senior and experienced staff and a valued member of the Executive General Management team. He brings to his role a deep understanding of infrastructure planning and delivery and a hands-on perspective of our alliance contracts.

A project leader, Rob has some 20 years’ of experience on communications, transport, water, wastewater, industrial, energy and other infrastructure projects. He has worked with clients during all phases of the project lifecycle, including project feasibility, planning, design, approvals, construction and operations.

In the environment space, Rob has broad-ranging experience in managing the preparation of strategic planning studies, environmental assessments and environmental management systems (EMS) for large and complex programs and projects, both in Australia and overseas. His leadership in environmental management was highlighted by his delivering the EMS for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games – the first Summer Olympic Games with an EMS certified against ISO 14001.

In communications, Rob has lead community and stakeholder communication teams for infrastructure programs and projects that have required close management of the relationship between project teams and community members.

For construction, Rob has been the environmental manager for a range of programs and projects, delivered under design and construct, relationship and alliance contracts. He has held alliance leadership team (ALT) and alliance management team (AMT) roles on Sydney Water, City of Sydney and Energy Australia alliances.

In his role as Executive General Manager – Environment & Water, Rob leads a large team of environment and water specialist consultants working across Australia and Asia Pacific.
