The focus of planning guidance has evolved from accommodating private vehicle trips to more sustainable and integrated provision for all transport modes. In accordance with national planning policy guidance which requires that transport assessments should be prepared and submitted alongside planning applications where developments will have significant transport implications, RPS produces Transport Assessments to accompany planning applications making sure that the coverage and scope reflect the scale of the development proposals and the extent of the transport implications. Local policy requirements are also referenced to establish a local authority’s precise requirements.
