RPS is the UK market leader in the design of traincare facilities, with involvement in many of the major depot projects developed in the UK over the last three years. Our dominance originates from designing the £25m groundbreaking facility for Siemens Transportation Systems at Southampton that utilised our generic design solution to accommodate Siemens’ ‘pit-stop’ maintenance regime. Extensive practical research was carried out into the flows of people, goods and vehicles, with their rail interfaces and associated train access needs. Through its design experience, the team has developed in-depth knowledge and extensive experience of depots including a full understanding of safety issues and legislative frameworks.
