RPS has a specialist team of registered occupational hygienists, toxicologists, safety experts and laboratory co-workers, who have extensive expertise in occupational and environmental health. RPS consults and assists in the assessment and control of toxics in the environment around industrial plants and at workplaces. RPS provides: workplace investigations; exposure assessments; risk inventories and evaluations; and compliance with legal responsibilities.

Occupational Hygiene is the prevention or control of workplace hazards to workers health, including: hazardous substances, physical and microbiological agents present in workplaces. These hazards can have short or long term health implications. In the UK legislation such as the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, the Control of Lead Regulations, the Control of Noise at Work Regulations and the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations must be complied with by employers. Compliance will require risk assessment, workplace exposure monitoring and testing of control measures.All of these services, as well as training and expert witness are provided by RPS.
