Past & Future
Past and Future
Our generation may be doing what no
other has done before - knowingly altering the global systems of our
planet.
If the changes made previously were local and largely unknown, the changes
we make now are
universal and better understood.
Simply because we know the legacy we
leave may be irreversible, the responsibilities we have are huge. Yet,
because society will continue to require adequate supplies
of energy
and other natural resources we have little
alternative but to manage
those resources more efficiently, understand them more clearly and lessen
the impact of
their use dramatically.
For over a third of a century, RPS
has evolved the skills to anticipate and advise on the impact of these
activities, be
they urban expansion, industrial activity or the development
of natural resources.
These include development planning, building and landscape design, transport planning, urban infrastructure, skills in resource and energy extraction - and the measurement, monitoring and management of the environmental effects of
all of these.
Our combination of market leading strengths makes us
one of the world's
leading consultancies, providing a
broad range of clients with the advice
and ability they
need to meet their objectives.
The stakes have risen in importance and extent. This century will doubtless see conflict between society's
desire to prosper and the effect of that prosperity on
our environment. RPS has the skills, knowledge and experience to make a difference.
