RPS Stakeholder Project Short-Listed for E.U. Award
Launched by Dick Roche, Irish Minister of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, the "Notice Nature" campaign on biodiversity has been short-listed for the EU Best Practice in Environmental Awareness awards. So successful has been the campaign that, after just six months, it has been short-listed for a prestigious award.

The Notice Nature campaign managed by RPS Stakeholder Consultation Unit has been short-listed as a finalist in the EU Best Practice in Environmental Awareness awards. The campaign was short-listed from 15 entries from countries throughout the European Union and progresses to the final along with three Swedish projects and one from Hungary. The competition is run by the Green Spider Network, an active network of around 50 representatives from environment ministries and national environmental agencies/institutes, who are involved in environmental information and communication.

The next step in the competition involves making a presentation on the campaign in The Hague in October, and then a panel representing the 27 EU member states will make the decision.

The Notice Nature campaign was launched in January by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and aims to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity and encourage everyone to play their part in protecting it.

Part of the project was the very successful Biodiversity Week, which had its debut in May.
