Áras an Úachtaráin – Sustainability Review & Action Plan
RPS recently carried out a Sustainability Review and produced a Sustainability Action Plan for Áras an Úachtaráin and the Office of the President. The Áras itself is situated on c.50 hectares of land within Phoenix Park, Dublin and the functions of the Presidents Office include the Secretariat, Kitchens and Housekeeping, The Garda Mounted Unit, The Garda Monitoring Unit, Gardens, Building Maintenance Services and the Defence Forces Aides de Camp.
The scope of services provided by RPS includes Energy, Waste and Water auditing and review and Carbon Footprinting of this historic and architecturally significant building and the President’s support services. Following on from an initial review, an Action Plan was prepared defining discrete tasks to raise performance across a range of areas including environmental and climate change aspects in addition to biodiversity and social inclusion. RPS was invited to provide these services reflecting our increasingly high profile in the sector of Sustainability in Ireland.
