Director Shareholding
The Company was informed today that on 11 April 2007 the following directors
sold ordinary shares of 3p each at a price of 326.78p per share. These share
sales are pursuant to the exercise of share options under the Approved Executive
Share Option Scheme and the Executive Share Option (number 2) Scheme.

In addition to the above, the Company was informed today that on 11 April 2007:
Dr Alan Hearne sold a total of 731,526 ordinary shares of 3p each at a price of
326.78p per share, of which 426,206 were from the exercise of share options
under the Executive Share Option (number 2) Scheme. Dr Hearne's resultant
share holding is 732,030 ordinary shares representing 0.36 per cent. of issued
share capital.
Dr John Williams sold 50,000 ordinary shares of 3p each at a price of 326.78p
per share. Dr Williams resultant share holding is 350,000 ordinary shares
representing 0.17 per cent. of issued share capital.
