Respiratory protection is typically the last line of defence for the protection of individuals from airborne hazards. To ensure employees are fully protected training, maintenance and fit-testing programs must all be in place, as well as regular monitoring of the quality of breathing air in compressed air breathing systems. RPS offer a wide range of services to assist clients in the management of their Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) provisions:
Face Fit Testing
RPS provide both Qualitative and Quantitative testing on all types of RPE. Testing is performed on-site or at the RPS laboratory in Manchester, and to ensure complete client confidence, our Technicians are accredited under the industry ‘Fit2Fit’ accreditation scheme.
‘Train the Tester’ Training
Delivered by experienced accredited technicians, this training enables clients to perform Face Fit Testing ‘in-house’. The course covers the following:

Breathing Air Testing
COSHH Regulation 9, ACOP 9, Section 178, states that the quality of compressed air supplied to breathing apparatus should be tested every 3 months. RPS provide a nationwide Breathing Air Testing Service to ensure levels of oil, water, CO & CO2 are within the limits specified in BS EN 12021.
