Water Quality Auditing

The completion of the legionella risk assessment and implementation of the water management regime is an integral part of any programme to ensure water quality within a building. Of equal importance is the need to audit the management system to determine if the monitoring programme is being correctly implemented.

RPS can provide independent verification that a client and their chosen service partners are fulfilling their responsibilities, with regard to the water management regime. At a frequency determined by the risk assessment (typically quarterly or six monthly), we would attend site to review all elements of documentation against an annual programme of tests and inspections for the water systems. This would be supported by a range of microbiological tests on the water system, including:

Legionella

Total viable counts

E.Coli/Coliforms

Pseudomonas

Further support is provided in the form of chemical analysis of the various water systems, including:

Cooling water

Water softeners

Heating/Chilled closed water systems

Drinking water

Swimming Pools/Spas

All sampling is undertaken in accordance with recognised industry standards and sample analysis is performed within a UKAS accredited laboratory RPS will review the findings of the site visit during a debrief meeting with the responsible person, upon conclusion of the visit. The finalised report is presented to the client where our findings and prioritised recommendations are discussed. This is supported by the use of our interactive risk management system, BHI®, to provide a real-time status of water system compliance.
