Odour Management
The generation and control of offensive odours from industrial facilities is a key concern for regulators, developers and local residents. RPS has a phased approach to odour investigations to ensure problems are clearly understood and solutions are developed to address the root cause(s) of odorous emissions.
The phases are;
Assessment of odour issues- identification and risk assessment of odour sources, compliant history and process evaluation.
Quantification of odour sources- odour sampling for olfactometry using a dilution procedure, MCERTS accredited chemical constituent analysis and sensory community questionnaires.
Odour impact assessment- modelling of measured odour emissions using recognised Gaussian dispersion models.
Solution development- to develop practical effective solutions including control technology review and preparing Odour Management Plans (OMP).
