RPS can undertake a range of reservoir engineering projects from small scale analytical studies to large scale full field 3D simulations. We have experts in compositional and black oil reservoir simulation, as well as the core skills of reservoir fluid characterisation, well test analysis and development planning. Typical projects include:
Full field simulation of a major producing oilfield, offshore eastern Canada, to optimize the locations of additional wells in the main field, the timing of tie-ins of a number of satellite fields; and the gas storage potential of adjacent reservoirs. Individual field simulation models were networked using the GAP modeling system.
Full field simulation of a heavy oil field in Argentina producing under CHOPS (cold heavy oil production with sand), to assess the potential for waterflooding in an environment with wormholes and foamy oil flow.
Audit of an Operator's reservoir simulation model for a large fluvial-deltaic oil reservoir, including evaluation of history match quality and consistency with geological model; and proposal of alternative geological realizations that might produce a better match of historical performance.
Development of a streamline full-field model and compositional and pseudo-miscible sector models to quantify the expected performance of a CO2 miscible flood pilot in a multilayered carbonate reservoir that has already been subjected to hydrocarbon miscible flooding.
Development of an analytical screening tool for ranking Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Sequestration Opportunities and EOR synergies in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB).
