Careers

Students
A recurring challenge in the energy sector is a shortage of skilled personnel. RPS commits to hiring enthusiastic summer, co-op and internship students throughout our organization. The Company looks for students with a desire to learn about and pursue careers in the oil and gas industry.

We seek students that bring a successful academic track record, a sound technical knowledge base and an eagerness to learn about the industry. Both students and RPS Energy have the opportunity to evaluate each other for future career opportunities.

Summer Students
Our summer student positions begin in May and end in September. These positions are available for post-secondary students who have an interest in the industry and who will be returning to school on a full time basis in September. Both technical and non-technical divisions of RPS Energy hire summer students.

Co-op and Internship Students
Co-op students work in their field of study to gain relevant career experience. They are contributing members of a highly skilled team, working and learning from the some of the best professionals in the industry. Students have the opportunity to work on meaningful and productive projects that provide both reward and challenge. The positions available typically are for Engineering, Geology and Geophysical students.

New Graduate Positions
New graduate positions are available year-round in both technical and non-technical divisions.

New Graduate Training – Wellsite Geology
RPS Energy has had great success in training and developing graduate geologists for a career working as field-based wellsite geologists. Wellsite Geologists are tasked to evaluate rock properties on drilling projects throughout Canada or internationally. Our formal training program involves a combination of formal classes and field mentoring and training. Class work includes: wireline logging, sample and gas logging and analysis, porosity and permeability assessment and wellsite geology fundamentals; together with comprehensive safety training.
