Legionella bacteria are species within a group of organisms of the genus legionella. Including Legionella pneumophila these bacteria may lead to the development of Legionnaires' disease. Infection with the legionella bacteria can prove to be fatal and of reported cases 12% lead to death. However this level can prove to be significantly higher in susceptible persons.
RPS Health, Safety and Environment have highly qualified Legionella Consultants, with many years of experience in providing Water Quality Consultancy. Our expertise includes:
- Legionella Risk Assessments - All risk systems are assessed with prioritised remedial actions and ongoing maintenance programs being provided.
- Independent Audits - These are undertaken on all water systems to ensure that Maintenance Contractors and Water Treatment Contractors are providing a high level of service in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Microbiological Sampling - Sampling for all types of bacteria including Legionella, E. Coli and Coliforms is undertaken by a UKAS accredited laboratory.
