Protected Species Observers – Gulf of Mexico

RPS is at the forefront of training and deploying Protected Species Observers (PSOs) and Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) Operators that are well-versed in the current regulatory requirements for mitigating the impact of seismic activities on marine wildlife. RPS PSOs and PAM Operators have a strong background in the biological and marine sciences, an in-depth knowledge of regulations, and the ability to effectively communicate with multi-tiered personnel within a project. In the United States, RPS has been conducting official PSO courses since mitigation regulations went into effect in 2003.
