Urban Design & Masterplanning
Bannerbrook Park
RPS London was instructed by Persimmon Homes (South Midlands) Ltd to provide a masterplan, design brief and supporting design codes for a new mixed use employment and housing development at Bannerbrook Park.
The site comprises approximately 39 hectares and is located on the western fringes of Coventry, adjacent to an existing residential area and open countryside.
Working as a part of a large consultant team, the project required the demolition and clearance of a former industrial complex, with the retention of a large office tower and remediation of large areas of ground contamination, all of which had an impact upon the layout and deliverability of a masterplan.
The masterplan and supporting design codes delivered an integrated development comprising a large modern business/science park, a local centre, open spaces and housing within a strong landscape setting, to provide a stimulating environment in which to live and work.

Outline planning permission has been granted, with detailed permission for the initial phases of residential development granted soon afterwards.
