Infrastructure
Thameslink
In April 2005 RPS was instructed by Network Rail to provide an expert planning witness at the re-opened Thameslink 2000 public inquiry.
Thameslink 2000 is a strategic rail infrastructure project intended to enhance the existing Thameslink network throughout London and the South East of England.
The project also proposes the redevelopment of Blackfriars and London Bridge rail stations and the construction of a new viaduct through the historic Borough Market area.
The role of RPS was to undertake a comprehensive review of planning policy in London and the South East, and demonstrate how this supported Thameslink 2000.
This required a thorough understanding of complex issues at a late stage of the project's evolution and the provision of robust evidence as part of a multidisciplinary team.
